How does an expat write from home?

So no I am not yet in London on my expat escapades but I thought as I countdown to my adventure I could share with you interesting facts and features about the glorious city of London and all it has to offer. This may be a person, store, monument, park, anything really that I have found to be interesting about a place I honestly at the moment don't know anything about.

What is an expatriate?

      An expatriate also known as expat is someone whom temporarily or permanently resides in a country other then the one they were brought up in. Just look at the word itself ex ("out of") patria ("country"). You see this idea of expatriates came about in the 19th and early 20th century when many Americans fled to major European cultural cities such as Vienna and Munich. One of the most famous expats of this time was that of the late great Ernest Hemingway born and raised in Illinois he later spent much of his writing life in the gorgeous city of Paris. Other famous expatriates are; T.S Eliot, Vladimir Nabokov, F.S. Fitzgerald, Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs and many more.

Hello!

      My name is Isabella and I am an expat. Well, I consider myself one. Last summer I spent my days in Paris taking French and Business classes. This summer you can find me making my way through the streets of London with my best friend. Here you will find my documented tales of what it is like to be a teenage expat (did I mention I'm 17?). 
      Now, before we start our journey together I thought I would tell you a little bit about myself so we aren't strangers. My name is Isabella, I am a 17 year old high school student born and raised in New York City. Now New York City is great don't get me wrong but living there for 17 years straight can get, dare I say boring. Last summer I got bit with what I like to call "the bug", the travel bug. You see I attend school in the gorgeous city of paris for exactly 31 days, 31 perfect splendid fantastic amazing wonder days. I took classes at a local school in French and business but other then that the city was mine to explore. You could say that month was the best in my life but to me that would be an understatement because there really are no words to describe what that trip did for me. And now in the sumer of 2014 the summer before my senior year I'm at it again this time exploring the streets of London. Now I won't lie this isn't the first time I've been to London but the last time I went I still traveled with a bunny and was 8 years away from meeting a training bra. So I'm guessing round two in London may turn out to be a little different. So ladies and gentleman please buckle your seat-belts it's going to be a bumpy ride.
